About

I work at the intersection of artificial intelligence, neuroscience, and entrepreneurship. My current research builds computational models of the brain — including network-diffusion models of neurodegenerative disease — alongside neural networks, reinforcement learning, multimodal large language models, neuro-sensing, and novel sensing applications.

I hold a PhD in Computer Science and Engineering from Japan, and have conducted research at the University of Louisville, OIST, and the University of Tokyo's AI Center, where I spent five years as a chair researcher. I am also a named inventor on granted U.S. patents. Beyond research, I've spent more than twenty-five years applying exponential technologies to global challenges — advising founders and organizations across Mexico, Japan, and the United States.

As faculty in AI & Robotics at Singularity University, I taught and collaborated with leaders from around the world, co-developed exponential technologies that were the core of more than fifty startups from Silicon Valley, and collaborated with astronauts Dan Barry and Yvonne Cagle at NASA Ames, exploring how frontier technologies can address humanity's greatest challenges.

I work with companies as a Board of Advisory member, Chief AI Officer (CAIO), and advisor on AI ethics and responsible AI. If your organization is shaping its AI strategy, governance, or research direction, I'd welcome a conversation.
